There is some white flecking and some partial colour restoration has been done to preserve the overall sense of pattern

with blue and pink floral borders

thin pile and some slight loss to  edges but this is a good quality old rug

all over hook-shaped motifs in reds

Sareh runner There is some white fleckingA 1940s Hamadan rug from northwest Persia. The colours and design are well executed with the "boteh" motifs in the central ground edged with the mysterious small animal motifs that we always think look like dinosaurs. The spandrels have elegant, geometric flower and leaf designs and the borders repeat the flower and leaf motifs in more naturalistic forms. Altogether a very pleasing rug. Thin pile, slight loss to ends. 152 x 102cm
