Description

alata (Harrison County

As the name suggests it is heavily veined with the veins getting darker as the season progresses

This Sarracenia × moorei (Sarracenia flava X Sarracenia leucophylla) was selected and grown by renowned carnivorous plant grower Ian Salter in Wales

I find that rubras are not as robust as other larger Sarracenia so they fair better in an unheated greenhouse rather than being exposed to the elements in the garden

alba clones

Sarracenia leucophylla var. alba 'Hurricane Creek White' - Clone 5a (Baldwin County, Alabama) MK-L144C Species alata (Harrison CountyThe 'Hurricane Creek' cultivar name can be applied to Sarracenia leucophylla var. alba clones, or their seeds, that were found at the Hurricane Creek site in Baldwin County, Alabama. Sadly, the natural Hurricane Creek White site was ploughed to create a pine tree plantation, destroying the Sarracenia population. A few pockets of Sarracenia leucophylla may remain, but the most spectacular clones now only exist in hobbyists collections.
