South Fork Kishwaukee River- Wildflower Park

After photographing the cottonwood trees being back lit by the sunlight

I left the house before 5:am and after photographing the wildflowers for a couple hours

I set out to photograph this recent snowfall along Eakin Creek West on this 2nd day of the New Year

The sun began to peek through the clouds with some color showing behind the box elder trees that line Eakin Creek West while noticing this beautiful looking cup plant (silphium perfoliatum) along the trail
