A dramatic and colorful sunset appears over Wildflower Lake in Northern Illinois

I noticed this shadow on the freshly fallen snow from a box elder tree along Eakin Creek West and thought that it looked very cool

A beautiful sunset comes alive with fascinating colors which are reflected off of Wildflower Lake

I was up and out the door to catch the sunrise and photograph the wildflowers before 5:00 am

I waited around hoping for a dramatic sunset which never materialized
